INVENTORY CONTROL MANAGER
Magna-Power Electronics, a leader in high-power DC power supplies, located in Flemington, NJ, is currently seeking a full-time Inventory Control Manager to maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure organization of the stockroom to maintain the accurate and timely integrity of physical inventories. The Inventory Control Manager receives, distributes, and maintains inventory, transports supplies, reviews and makes recommendations on par levels based on areas of responsibility, tracks supplies and deliveries, and prepares paperwork. This position reports directly to the President.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Understand and adhere to all procedures and work instructions relative to receiving, storing, and shipping material. • Assist the Production Planning Manager, the Controller, and the Logistics Manager in conducting the annual physical inventory. • Keep inventory stocked and manage inventory, including cycle counts, safety stock, dead stock, fill rates, and reconciliation coordination of all components. • Track slow moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and make reports to the appropriate personnel. • Review stock status daily for potential out-of-stock or other inventory problems. • Implement/manage material flow and stock organization for best practices. • Work directly with the Production Planning Manager, Director of Purchasing, and Production Manager to review BOMs for upcoming projects to ensure that no part shortages exist. • Liaise with the Logistics Manager to ensure that all incoming material is accounted for and stored properly. • Assemble orders, check against shipping or customer order, and report shortages and incomplete orders. • Oversee daily work order fulfillment. • Perform picking function to make up necessary kits of electronic parts and ensure all parts are available and accounted for in kit. • Assist with replenishment to the warehouse from assembly/fulfillment. • Attend to each department site to distribute materials. • Develop, deploy, and maintain a discrete location and retrieval system for all inventories. • Schedule, coordinate, and record the results of planned periodic cycle counts. • Ensure assignment of new product slot locations, cycle count code, price list, and pick type. • Coordinate item changeovers in a timely and accurate manner. • Resolve open inventory problems with accounting and purchasing. • Supervise warehouse activities, stockroom, and shipping and receiving with responsibility for up to ten employees.
Required Qualifications:
• Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures. • Four year college degree in business, industrial engineering, operations management, statistics, supplies chain/logistics, engineering, or information technology. A four year degree may be substituted for equivalent work experience in inventory control management. • Prefer APICS (CPIM, CIRM or CSCP) or ISM/NAPM (CPM or CPSM) Certification. • High degree of knowledge in ERP and MRP applications preferred. • Experience in Microsoft Office products or similar skills are required. • Strong math, verbal and written communications skills. • Experience with managing and assessing stock levels against minimum quantities and driving purchasing and receiving activities from such activities. • Ability to positively communicate with all members of the organization. • Ability / willingness to make decisions and take necessary actions. • Ability to reconcile inventory discrepancies as they arise. • Ability to prioritize work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment. • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position. • Must be able to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship. • Related supervisory experience in manufacturing.
